You and SRA

As a member of the "family" organization of the Sheriff's Department, you have become a part of a very special, close-knit group.   With the exception of the Foundation, (which is involved with a variety of charitable activities) the organization exists solely for the benefit of its members.

It is an exciting time for our Association, and the ideal time to become a member.

The Sheriffs' Relief Association was organized in March of 1924, as the Benevolent Arm of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  Its primary purpose was to address the needs of department members during individual times of family crisis.

Although the Association has grown to over 16,000 members, and expanded its services, the original concept has not changed:

  • To Be There When A Member Needs Help
  • As members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff''s Department, we have the common bond of service to our community.
  • As members of the Sheriffs' Relief Association we have the mutual goal of service to each other.
  • Our collective strength is dedicated to protecting the safety, security, and dignity of our membership.
